Yvonne Evelyn Fisher

Yvonne Evelyn Fisher, 92, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Saturday, November 22, 2008. Yvonne was born April 25, 1916 in Lake Odessa, MI, the daughter of John and Lula (Westbrook) Bachelder. She was a graduate of South High School in Grand Rapids, MI. Yvonne and her husband, Cleve Fisher, were married in 1934 and operated Fisher Realty Company in Grand Rapids until Cleve’s death in 1981. In addition to her parents and her husband, Yvonne was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Bachelder; sister, Wanda Geldersma; granddaughter, Kimberly Lynn; great granddaughter, Heather; and a great grandson, Luther. Surviving are 3 children, Gary Lee (Genevieve) Fisher of Grand Rapids, Cheryl Lynn (Leo) Rowland of Sand Lake, Geneanne Marie Wasel of Rockford; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; 1 brother, Robert Bachelder of Arizona. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10:00 am until time of funeral service at 11:00 am at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. Chaplain Larry Terlouw officiating. Interment Rosedale Memorial Park, Grand Rapids. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Envelopes are available for your gift at the funeral home. The family wishes to thank the loving people at Heartland Hospice who made Yvonne’s past few years very special for her and her family. The family also wishes to thank the staff at Green Acres Retirement Home in Greenville for their loving care and support of Yvonne during her stay as a resident there.
