William A. Nelson

William Arthur Nelson, age 68 of Cedar Springs, died Thursday, June 2, 2022 at his home. Bill was born October 25, 1953 in Breedsville, MI the son of Floyd and Wanda (Folk) Nelson. He graduated Valedictorian from Bangor High School Class of 1971. He served his country in the U. S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. Bill worked for the U. S. Post Office from June of 1977 to January of 2009 and retired as the manager of maintenance for the Chicago Post Office which included 80 branches. While working at the Post Office he took college classes and earned his Master’s degree. He loved to travel and see the world. Surviving are his wife, Gale; children, Ben Nelson, John (Mandy) Nelson, Matthew (Nicole) Nelson; 6 grandchildren; siblings, Brian (Sally) Nelson, Barbara (Terry) Johnson, Kathy Nelson. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Walter John. A celebration of his life will take place on Saturday, June 18 from 2-6 pm at the Bangor American Legion, 19 N.
