William "Bill" Phillips

William J. Phillips age 78 of Sparta passed away Friday, June 6, 2025 at Trillium Woods Hospice, Byron Center. He was born May 14, 1947 in Atlantic City, NJ the son of Donald and June (Hepburn) Phillips, Sr. Bill had served in the U.S. Coast Guard and retired from AT&T. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and the family cabin up north. He could fix and build anything. He was a faithful Christian and loved serving and helping others. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and loyal, faithful friend who provided well for his family. Surviving are his daughters, Melissa (Nigel) Girling, Rebecca Phillips; grandchildren, Ellie, Kallie, Alec and Zachary; great grandchildren, Mila, Rory and Lana; sisters, Joanna Arp, Janet McClellan; and daughter-in-law, Teresa Phillips. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sharon, son, Jonathan, and brother, Donald Phillips Jr. The family will greet friends Friday, June 20 from 1:30 pm until time of memorial service at 2:30 pm at the K.E. Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. Pastor Mike Wittmer officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Arms of Love Food Pantry, 1220 N. Lafayette St, Greenville, MI 48838
