William "Bill" L. Landry

William L. “Bill” Landry, age 75, died Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born September, 25, 1949 in Grand Rapids, the son of LeRoy and Jeanette (McGowan) Landry.

Bill was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed boating, fishing, and even water skiing in his youth. Bill loved to “hunt,” but spent most of his time hunting napping in nature. He loved to go camping, talking to people while he drove his golf cart around, and spending time with his family. Bill was always the go-to handyman in the family, and he used his carpentry skills for many woodworking crafts. He will be missed by many. Bill proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was honorably discharged in 1971 as a Staff Sargent. He worked for the Kent County Sheriff’s Department for 27 years. After retiring, he drove bus for Sparta Area Schools for 10 years.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Suzanne “Suzy” (Brantner Mosher); children, Colleen (Nels) Mosher Uutinen, Jason (Heidi) Mosher, Nathan (Traci) Mosher, Matt (Jamie) Landry, Julie (Matt) Landry DeGraaf, Scott (Tara) Landry; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Kathy (Steve) Malkewitz; brothers-in-law, Dan Derry and Mark (Darlene) Cliff; sisters-in-law, Jo Ellen (Mel) Empie and Brenda Manley; many nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Jean (Spinetto) Landry; siblings, Anne Derry and Ed Landry; parents-in-law, Raymond and Phyllis (Wheeler) Brantner; brother-in-law, Lynn Manley.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 4, 2024 at K.E. Pike Funeral Home in Cedar Springs. The family will greet friends Sunday, November 3rd from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment, Holy Trinity Cemetery. Officiating, Pastor Karen Fitz La Barge.
