William (Bill) D. Calhoun

William (Bill) Dale Calhoun age 84 of Gowen, MI died Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at his home. Bill was born March 3, 1937 in Grand Rapids, MI the son of George and Irene (Lott) Calhoun. Bill was a hard worker, very dedicated to all his business endeavors. When he was not working he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, bowling, working around his home and spending time with friends and family. In later years one of his favorite activities was frequent trips to the casino. Surviving are his first wife of 28 years Darlene Baker; children, Bob (Tracy) Calhoun, Larry (Shawn) Calhoun, Sherry Westra, Karen (Mike) Hoogerhyde, Barb (Don) Bowen; stepchildren, Randy Bowron, Rich Bowron; 24 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; siblings, Robert Calhoun, Bonnie (Skip) Rogers. He was preceded by his second wife of 35 years, Joyce Calhoun; his parents; sister, Beverly Wagner; brothers-in-law, Lynn Wagner, Mike Woudstra; sister-in-law, Diane Calhoun; son-in-law, Daniel Westra; great grandson, Dominic Hoogerhyde. The family will receive friends Monday 11:00 am until time of service at 12:00 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. Private burial at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
