Wayne L. Ellis

Wayne L. “Whitey” Ellis, 72 of Sand Lake, died Thursday, August 23, 2007 at his home. Whitey was born March 13, 1935 in Grand Rapids, MI the son of Sanford and Lily Mae (Thompson) Ellis. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and a member of the Cedar Springs American Legion and the Sand Lake Eagles. Surviving are 1 daughter, Audrey Ellis; 1 step daughter, Cynthia Cramer; 5 grandchildren, David Cramer, Tommy Cramer, Justin Ellis, Jacob Ellis, Kevin White II; 7 great grandchildren, Cassie, Cody, Raven, Tiffany, Kristen, Eric, Madisyn; 1 sister, Shirley Venema. Cremation has taken place. The family will greet friends Friday, August 31, 2007 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs, www.blisswitterspike.com where a memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007 at 11:00 am. Mary Peterson officiating. Interment Bowne Center Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
