Warren D. Benjamin 87 of Cedar Springs, died Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at the Fred & Lena Meijer Heart Center. Mr. Benjamin was born Nov. 7, 1923 in Cedar Springs, MI the son of Fay and Mildred (Davis) Benjamin. He was a farmer all of his life, had a milk transport business, worked for Kent County DPW at their landfills, and was a Pioneer Seed representative for 40 years. He served on the Nelson Township Board and the Cedar Springs Public School Board. Surviving are two children, Fay (Barbara) Benjamin, Jean M. Benjamin all of Cedar Springs; grandchildren, Jon (Tara) Loba, Renee Loba, Jennie Benjamin, Matthew Benjamin; great grandson, Kaleb; sister, Kathleen Davis; nieces and nephew, Karen Davis, Denise (Craig) Whitlow, Barbara Massa, Michael (Cindy) Massa, Nancy (Will) Jones, Linda Stephens; great niece, Dyan Underhill; various cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Edith Benjamin in 2009. The family will receive friends Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. The funeral service will be held Saturday 11:00 am at East Nelson United Methodist Church, Pastor Doug DiBell officiating. Interment East Nelson Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Santa Claus Girls or the American Cancer Society.
