Vivian M. Knight

Vivian M. Knight age 85 passed away Friday, August 13, 2021 at Pilgrim Manor, Grand Rapids. Vivian was born November 8, 1935 in York County, SC the daughter of Morris Lee and Frances (Funderburk) Jackson Sr. She was a strong-willed and passionate woman. A fierce defender of her loved ones and strove to always be in control of her surroundings. The oldest of six, she took responsibility of caring for her younger siblings after the early death of their beloved mother. Singing the great hymns of the faith in her strong alto voice brought her great joy. She enjoyed the soothing and enchanting flutes and reeds of Native Americans, babbling brook and distant waterfalls. She especially loved the sound of the pounding surf, the warmth of the summer sun and the smell of the salty ocean’s breezes. Planting and pruning her flowers and making flower arrangements brought her great enjoyment. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandma. We will all miss her intense love and passion for life. Surviving are her daughter, Karen (Jay) Mead; grandchildren, Brandon (April) Mead, Janelle (Denny) Bradley, Blake (Sarah) Mead, Justin Mead; siblings, Butch Jackson, BJ Thomas, Judy Mikles. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Carolyn Davis and Shirley Ann Miller. Cremation has taken place and there will be no services.
