Virginia M. Cherry

Virginia M. Cherry, 83 of Cedar Springs, died Saturday, August 4, 2012 at Northview Manor. Mrs. Cherry was born September 19, 1928 in Grand Rapids, MI the daughter of Andrew and Dora (Fleet) Voss. She retired from Meijers. She enjoyed traveling with her husband before he passed away and spending time in Hilton Head. She liked baking and cooking and made amazing chocolate chip cookies. Surviving are 3 sons and their spouses, Fred (Sylvia) Cherry of Rockford, Bill (Carol) Cherry of Cedar Springs, Scott (Mary) Cherry of Rockford; 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sister, Donna Oleniczak of Grand Rapids. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob in 1997; son, James; 2 brothers and 3 sisters. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday 11:00 am at St. Alphonsus, 224 Carrier St, Grand Rapids. Rev. Fr. Lamar Partin, CSsR celebrant. Private interment Resurrection Cemetery.
