Vicki E. Covell

Vicki E. Covell, age 70, of Cedar Springs, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2023. She was born in Grand Rapids, MI on July 17, 1953 to Jasper and Isabelle Smith. Vicki was a bus driver for Cedar Springs Public Schools for 30 years and touched 1000’s of kid’s lives. After she retired, she remained very busy and active and enjoyed her current job driving for Senior Neighbors. In her spare time, Vicki was an antique enthusiast and you would often find her at the local auctions. She also loved spending her free time with her husband and grandchildren at their cabin in Baldwin. Vicki will be remembered for her generosity and her heart of gold. Vicki is survived by her husband of 50 years, James; sons, Tony (Tasha) Covell and Jay Covell; six grandchildren Dakota, Cassidy, Remington, Austin, Cheyanne, and Rae; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and two grandchildren, Keith and Victoria. A celebration of life will be held for family and friends Saturday, September 16, from 11:00 to 12:30 with a luncheon following until 3:30 at Hillcrest Community Church of God, 5994 18 Mile Rd.
