Verah Jean Borst

Verah Jean Borst, 82 of Cedar Springs, died Thursday, September 27, 2007 at Spectrum Health-Butterworth Campus. Miss Borst was born August 18, 1925 in Grand Rapids, MI the daughter of Charles C. and Eva Mae (McKinney) Borst. She had retired from the State of Michigan, Department of Social Services. Jean was an active member of the United Methodist Church, Cedar Springs and had worked in the children’s programs. She was a member of the Cedar Springs Women's Club and was Outstanding Women of the Year in 2003. She was a dog sitter for many of her friends. Surviving are 3 nephews, Charles & Sandra Borst of Kent City, Patrick & Sandra Borst of Greenville, Richard & Cheryl Borst of Grand Rapids; many great and great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles V. Borst. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6-8 pm and Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs, www.blisswitterspike.com. The funeral service will be held Monday 11:00 am at the United Methodist Church. Pastor Brian Rafferty officiating. Interment Elmwood Cemetery.
