Ursula Penland

Ursula Penland 77, of Sand Lake passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, September 2, 2017 due to complications from breast cancer. She was born August 26, 1940 in Rossdorf, Germany, the daughter of Heinrich and Margarete (Emig) Schott. She was a member of the Church of The Full Gospel and was much loved by her neighbors. Surviving are her children, Michael (Becky) Roy, James (Michelle) Roy, Kenneth (Stacy) Penland; grandchildren, Chase (Precious) Roy, Matthew Roy, Anthony Tillottson, Amber Roy, Jacob Penland and Samantha Penland; great grandson, Kylar Roy. She was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Alvin Penland in 2004. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 pm until time of service at 2:00 pm at the Church of The Full Gospel, 170 E. Lake St., Sand Lake. Pastor Gary Giddings officiating. Interment East Nelson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Hospice, 2100 Raybrook St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546 or the Church of The Full Gospel.
