Thomas Allen Caldwell age 89 of Grandville passed on Thursday, June 20, 2024. He was born January 10, 1935 in Manton, MI the son of Lawrence and Florence (Clawson) Caldwell. Tom attended Godwin Heights High School and Grand Rapids Junior College where he played basketball and football. He was a proud United States Marine and spent time in Okinawa, Japan after the Korean War. Tom worked in the Tool & Die industry for many years. He enjoyed being a handyman for anyone who required maintenance, delivered food to loved ones and attended school activities for his children and grandchildren. Tom was a member of the Saskatoon Golf League, secretary and treasurer for the Grand Rapids Coin Club and involved in Boy Scouts of America. He was also a member of the Pierson Township Board Planning Committee and an avid University of Michigan Football fan. He always said his greatest accomplishment was “his wife and three children.” Surviving are his children, Thomas (Nouri) Caldwell, Tara Caldwell (Charles Dyer), Tylene (Phillip) Cooley; grandchildren, Thomas “Tripp” Caldwell, Jacquelynne Joy Hamilton, Jay (Samantha) Cooley, Rachael Olson (Lance Hoezee), Olivia Cooley, Anthony (Kayley) Olson; great grandchildren, Rose Olson, James Cooley, Ollie and Emma Olson; beloved four-footed roommate, Shadow Girl; many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Cremation has taken place. The family will greet friends 9:00 am Saturday, July 27 at Grandville Senior Center, 3380 Division Ave. SW Grandville, MI until the funeral service at 10:00 am with the Honor Guard following.
