Thomas Paul Bearss

Thomas P. Bearss, 67 of Grand Rapids, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 13, 2014 at his home. Our loss is heaven’s gain. Tom was born May 6, 1946 in Grayling, MI the son Henry and Lyndall (Yeager) Bearss. He graduated from Cedar Springs High School, Class of 1964, served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and was a Kent County Sheriff Deputy for 28 years retiring in 1995. He was a member of Rockford Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Evelyn (Loveless); children, Ginger (Bearss) Schaefer, Eric (Angela) Bearss; grandchildren, Mya, Rylan, Aubrey and Isaac; sister, Lois Goodell. The family will greet friends Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 10:00 am until time of memorial service at 11:00 am at Rockford Baptist Church, 221 Courtland St., Rockford. Pastor Larry D. Rowland officiating. A luncheon will follow the service at the church. Interment in the spring at Courtland Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Rockford Baptist Church.
