Thelma M. Morris age 97 of Cedar Springs, died Friday, February 1, 2019 at her home with her family by her side. Thelma was born May 2, 1921 in Cedar Springs, MI the daughter of Garner and Jessie (Heiss) Goodell. She had been a waitress at Cedar Cafe and had worked for Robert Baldridge DDS and Richard Dodd DDS. She was a member of the Cedar Springs Women’s Club, Grand A’s Model A Club and helped set up the dinners at the American Legion Hall. She was a good and loving grandmother. Surviving are her grandsons, Roger “Rip” (Kenda) Gillette, Michael (Lisa) Gillette, Jeffrey Gillette; great grandchildren, Stacey Gillette, Jenna (Joshua) Bielecki, Kourtney (Justin) Langdon, Jessie (Nic) Pemberton, Erin (Matt) Smith, Arlenea Gillette, Audrey Geglio-Gillette; great great grandchildren, Josie, Everlie, Noah, Brady, Gianna, Bennett, Kenzie; sisters, Marie Bigney, Donna Rhoades; several nieces and nephews; special friend and neighbor, Pam Morris. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harley in 2000; daughters, Cheryl Morris, Arlene (Roger) Gillette; brothers, Leon, Richard, and Donald Goodell; sister, Norma Robinson. The family will greet friends Tuesday from 4-7 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs where the service will be held Wednesday 11:00 am. Interment Blythefield Memory Gardens, Belmont. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners International or Faith Hospice.
