Susan K. Vandermeulen

Susan K. VanderMeulen 48, of Cedar Springs passed away at her home on Thursday, September 1, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer. Susan was born November 23, 1962 in Muskegon, MI the daughter of Edward & Thelma (McLean) Dykema. Susan had worked at the Cottage Bar for 22 years, the Cancer & Hematology Center of West Michigan, and had been a lunch lady for Rockford Public Schools. She was a loving wife, mother and sister. Surviving are her husband, Chuck VanderMeulen; son, Joshua VanderMeulen; daughter, MaKenzie VanderMeulen all of Cedar Springs; mother-in-law, Marion VanderMeulen; brother, Scott Dykema of Colorado Springs, Co; sisters, Becky Decker of Cedar Springs, MI and Linda Shipes of Clarksville, TN; sisters-in-law, Marla (Tom) Mesler and Carol (Jim) Ponchaud; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her parents; brother, David Jones; father-in-law, Walter VanderMeulen. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs where services will be held Wednesday 11:00 am. Pastor Tony Karns, Resurrection Life Church, Big Rapids officiating. Interment Courtland Township Cemetery, Rockford. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer & Hematology Center of West Michigan.
