Susan I. Kowalczyk

Susan I. Kowalczyk “Little General” age 72 of Pierson was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 26, 2019. Sue was a retired Postmaster and had over 30 years of service. She held positions in the National League of Postmasters. She was an active member of Resurrection Lutheran Church, Sand Lake and served on the Altar Guild. Sue was an avid bingo player with her best friend, Bonnie. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer; parents, Floyd and Grace Ives; in-laws, Steve and Marge Kowalczyk; nephew, Kevin Courtney; brother-in-law, Dennis Kowalczyk. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Michael Kowalczyk Sr.; children, Michael Jr., Aimee (Matt) Ryder; grandchildren, Amanda (Brandon), Samuel (Sara), Zachary, Christian, Emma, Maddison, Sofia, Ryan, and Amelia; great grandchildren, Liam, Camden, Jaxsen and Jada; sister, Judi (John) Johnson; brother, Fred (Diane) Ives; sisters-in-law, Sandi (Mike) Matusak, Janet Kowalczyk; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Her pets, Lilly, Roxie and Gilligan. The family will greet friends Sunday, December 8 from 4-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. The service will be Monday, December 9 at 11:00 am at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 180 Northland Dr., Sand Lake. Pastor Lee Zabrocki officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital.
