Sue E. Rosenberger, age 88, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at The Brook of Cedar Springs. She was born August 7, 1937, in Pierson, Michigan, the daughter of J. Stuart and Geraldine (Larson) VanLiew.
Sue graduated from County Normal in 1956 and went on to teach in several Kent County schools for nearly 50 years. Through her dedication as an educator, she made a lasting difference in the lives of countless children.
She was happily married to Arthur Rosenberger for 53 years, having wed on November 7, 1959, and shared life with him until his passing on June 2, 2013. Together, they spent 25 winters at Maranatha Village in Sebring, Florida.
Sue loved and served the Lord faithfully and was a devoted member of Oakfield Baptist Church. She had a passion for quilting, creating many beautiful pieces that will be treasured by her family for years to come. She also had a heart for sharing God’s Word, touching the lives of many through her faith, kindness, and quiet strength. She was greatly loved by her family and will be remembered for the meaningful impact she had on so many.
Surviving are her children: Karen Sue Everest; Alan (Cynthia) Rosenberger; Scott (Karen Lynn) Rosenberger; and Christopher (Mari Alice) Rosenberger; 13 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; siblings, Beverly Rainville, Robert VanLiew, Sharon (Jim) Bowers, Carol (Dave) DeHaan, and Mike (Jill) VanLiew; sister-in-law, Sharon Van Liew; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur Rosenberger; and her brother, Jerry VanLiew.
The family will greet friends Sunday, April 12, from 2–4 p.m. at the K.E. Pike Funeral Home in Cedar Springs where the service will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m., with Pastor Chris Minor officiating. Interment will take place at Rockford Cemetery. A luncheon will follow the interment at Oakfield Baptist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Oakfield Baptist Church.
