Sue A. Magoon

Sue Ann Magoon age 79 of Cedar Springs died Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at Corewell Health-Butterworth Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 20, 1946 in Cedar Springs the daughter of Romey and Kathryn (Terrell) Champlin. Sue and Ron met at the Chicken Coop dance hall and they had a 61 year long marriage. She was able to be a stay-at-home mom for her children and had so much fun doing that she was able to do it for her wonderful grandkids, along with Ron’s help. In the early years they enjoyed dancing, camping, and snowmobiling. Sue was a hockey grandma and loved going to garage sales with the grandkids. Everyone enjoyed her fabulous cooking and there was always dessert and treats. She will be deeply missed by her family. Surviving are her loving husband, Ron; children, Rhonda Ramsey, Chad (Ronda) Magoon, Kim Magoon; grandchildren, Zachariah (Hannah) Magoon, Leah Ramsey; brother, Bob (Mary) Champlin; in-laws, Dorothea Fuhrman, Althea Feikema, Arnold (Sharon) Magoon, Herb Merlington; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Bonnie Lynn Champlin, Gail Merlington; father and mother-in-law, Willis and Evelyn Magoon; brothers-in-law, Donnie Magoon, Don Feikema, Monte Fuhrman, Ron Baldridge; son-in-law, Harry Ramsey; and niece, Beth Baldridge. Memorial contribution may be made in Sue’s name to Corewell Health Foundation for hospice care, 25 Michigan St. Suite 4100, Grand Rapids, MI 49503. Per her wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no service at this time.
