Steve W. Balberde

Steven W. Balberde, age 69, of Rockford, Michigan, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2026. Steve was born on December 31, 1956, in Sparta, Michigan. He loved his family dearly and was beloved by them. Steve loved good food, classic cars, spending time with his family and friends, helping others, and was always there to support his family. His hobbies included: volunteering, watching science fiction, sporting events, karate, playing softball, bowling, and drinking Pepsi as his favorite beverage of choice. Steve was quiet, yet he had a good sense of humor. He was employed in the tool and die industry, aluminum extrusion, and medical technology industry (retiring after 30+ years).

Steve was preceded in death by his mother Agnas (Inezita) Mancha (Balberde). He is survived by his wife, Denise Balberde (Hibbard) of 45 years; daughter, Melinda Balberde; father, Sandotos Balberde Sr; his siblings, Vickie Perkins, Rosie Balberde, Santos Balberde Jr, Anita Garza, Joe Balberde, and many nieces and nephews.

The family will greet friends Saturday, September 12 from 10:00 am until time of Mass at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Consolation Church, 4865 11 Mile Road, Rockford. Fr. Logan McMahan celebrant.

Steve will greatly be missed.
