Sandra Joy Greenbauer, 66, of Cedar Springs, MI passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 17, 2024 surrounded by her family after a long battle with cancer. Sandi was born in Grand Rapids, MI on August 10, 1957 to Willis and Marilyn (Chaney) Lewis who had four children: Charles, Sandra, Karilyn, and Susan. She is survived by her three children: DJ (Niki), Dan (Tara), and Julie; grandchildren, Tehya, Marais, Carmen, Brohman, Mason, Brooklyn, and Sadie; great-grandson, Eli; sisters, Karilyn (Bill) Regeczi, Susie Butler; sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Lewis; cousin, Amy Nequist. Amy was her best friend, and worked tirelessly to care for her, everything from bringing her to scheduled appointments, the Emergency Room, and bringing her favorite foods, Amy was by her side through the hardest moments of her fight to beat cancer and to the very end. Sandi is best known for her work in the nursing field, and putting herself through college to rise in the ranks and provide for her family. Later in life she took up a hobby farm and found joy in caring for miniature horses, and donkeys. Sandi shared this love for animals with her grandchildren and formed close bonds. Sandi also bonded with her grandchildren through crafting everything from custom t-shirts and cups, to quilting and decorative stained glass.
