Ruth E. Munro

Ruth E. Munro, 87 of Cedar Springs, died Monday, August 4, 2008 at her home. Ruth was born September 23, 1920 in Cedar Springs, MI the daughter of George and Beatrice (Richmond) Munro. She earned her Bachelor degree from Western Michigan University and her Masters degree from the University of Michigan and had taught school in Grand Rapids, Brown City and Southfield. Ruth enjoyed sports, especially golfing, which she played two days a week even playing last Thursday. She had sung in a Choral group and enjoyed big band and swing music. She felt music spoke things words could not say. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers, Gordon Munro in 1972 and Emery Munro in 1986. Surviving are her dear friends, Larry and Audrey Young and their children, Larry Young III and Kelley. Visitation will be held Wednesday 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs, where services will be held Thursday 11:00 am. Pastor Larry Young officiating. Interment Elmwood Cemetery, Cedar Springs. Memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics.
