Ruth I. (Baki) Durham

Ruth I. Baki Durham age 94 formerly of Howard City died Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at The Brook of Newaygo. Ruth was born October 28, 1925 in Grand Rapids, MI the daughter of William and Emma (Rutz) Cross. She was a great mom, hard worker and her boys always came first. She would shop for herself at thrift stores so her kids could always have brand new jeans and shoes. She and her sister worked as “Rosie’s Riveters” during World War II on planes. Surviving are her children, Daniel (Gloria) Baki, Louis (Judy) Baki, Bob (Julie) Baki, James (Linda) Baki, Michael (Patty) Baki; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Lois Osytek, Margaret Melinn; brother, William (Kathie) Cross; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Daniel Baki and Forrest Durham; siblings, Fred, Maxine, Doris, Emily and Marion. The family will greet friends Tuesday, September 8 at 12:30 pm with a service following at 1:00 pm at Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. Pastor Bruce Wilson officiating. Interment Fairplains Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Salvation Army.
