Russell D. Black

Russell Dennis Black age 67 of Cedar Springs died Sunday, April 16, 2023 at Corewell Health Butterworth. Russ was born March 11, 1956 in Greenville, MI the son of Francis and Doris (LaFond) Black. He worked at the Gun Tavern in Cedar Springs and MoIron in Sparta. Russ enjoyed classic rock, karaoke, cooking, college football, especially Ohio State. He had a great sense of humor and could get a whole room laughing. He was an amazing dad and will be deeply missed. Surviving are his daughters, Brooke Salmon-Black, Abigaile Salmon; granddaughter, Lillian Hastings; siblings, Sharon (Tom) Tanis Dodd-Black, Jeanette (Jim) Black Dorey, Randall (Erica) Black; sister-in-law, Valerie Black; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, William Black. The family will greet friends Monday, April 24 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at K.E. Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. A luncheon will immediately follow at the American Legion. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
