Rose Marie Sochor

Rose Marie Sochor, 86 of Gowen, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017 at her home. Mrs. Sochor was born July 23, 1930 in Hilliards, MI the daughter of Joseph and Celia (Bala) Tichvon. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed knitting for her family and others. All of her family have a sweater, afghan or hat she has made. She prepared many afghans for the future generation. Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Charles “Chuck”; children, Kathy (Ron) Cooper, Dennis Sochor, Gary (Deb) Sochor, Terrence Sochor and special friend (Deb Vincent), Melanie Wheeler Perez, Blaine (Jennifer) Sochor, Suzanne Peiffer, Jon Sochor, and Lisa Fisher; 36 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; brother, Richard (Joyce) Tichvon; sister-in-law, Shirley Tichvon. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Steven Sochor; grandson, Jeremy Cooper; brothers, Robert (Barbara) Tichvon, Ronald Tichvon. The family will greet friends Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs where a Rosary will be held at 7:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday 2:00 pm at St. John Paul II Church with viewing beginning at 1:00 pm. Rev. Fr. Lam Le celebrant. Interment St. Margaret’s Cemetery, Harvard. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel Hospice, Humane Society of Kent County or St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital.
