Ronald E. Pike age 77 of Kent City passed on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at Trinity Health Hospital-Muskegon. He was born October 13, 1946 in Grand Rapids, MI the son of Ralph and Helen (Cheslek) Pike. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, was wounded and received the Purple Heart and other medals for his actions and bravery. He was very proud of his service to his country and kept in touch with his Army buddies at reunions and veterans’ meetings. Ron drove truck for a couple of different companies eventually retiring from USF Holland. In his younger years Ron and his wife Dolly raised cows and baled hay together. During his retirement, Ron also enjoyed working with Art Smith Auctions. where he helped with set-up and clerked for many years. Surviving are his wife of nearly 58 years Mary “Dolly” (Cooper) Pike; brothers, Wayne (LouAnn) Pike, Mark (Barb) Pike; sister, Frances Spangenberg; several nieces, nephews and cousins; neighbors, Debra and Carl Schuitema. A special thank you to John and Rhonda Pike for their assistance throughout Ron’s illness. The family will greet friends 2:00 pm Thursday, February 22 with a funeral service following at 3:00 pm at K.E. Pike Funeral Home Cedar Springs. Pastor Dan Kuhnle of City Church-Sparta officiating.
