Ronald Earl Fisher age 79 of Howard City, passed away, Thursday, August 25, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family and gathered into the arms of Jesus. He was born October 21, 1942 in Grand Rapids, MI the son of Earl and Mae (Treece) Fisher. Ron grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan, spent summers at the family cottage on Gun Lake and graduated from South High School in 1960. He beat cancer three times, but fought a losing battle with heart failure. He was retired from General Motors and enjoyed his retirement riding bikes, visiting casinos and spending time with family. He enjoyed the last 25 years at his winter home in Ft. Myers, Florida where he leaves many of his southern friends whom he considered family. He was an active tennis player, bike rider, beach walker, card player and never missed a chance to go out to breakfast. He enjoyed deer hunting, four wheeling and any kinds of outdoor activity. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Dawn Kelly in 2012. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Kathy; daughter, Phylis and her husband, James VanderHoning, son-in-law, Randy Kelly; six grandchildren, Ryan Kelly (Nickie), Brandon Kelly (Vanessa), Eric Jones (Keenan), Aaron Kelly (Blair), Stacie Kovatch (Chris), Adam Kelly (Chelsey); and 10 precious great grands, Chase, Caden, Kyler, Cameron, Brinleigh, Kenzie, Collin, Owen, Lucas and Daisy. The family would like to thank Spectrum Health Hospice Team for their wonderful care of Ron during his final days. The family will greet friends Tuesday, August 30 from 2:00 pm until time of service at 3:00 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. Pastor Chuck Smith officiating.
