Ronald M. Anderson

View Photo Tribute Ronald M. Anderson, 63 of Gowen, died Saturday, January 21, 2006 at his home. Mr. Anderson was born June 3, 1942 in Grand Rapids, MI the son of Roland and Mary Ann (Mobley) Anderson. He was a graduate of Cedar Springs High School, Class of 1961. Ron served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 – 1965 with the 809th Combat Defense Squadron. He was an Air Policeman and K9 Officer while in the military. He went on to serve with the Grand Rapids Police Department for 28 years retiring in 1994 as a Sergeant. Surviving are 3 children, Erika & Jim Fannon of Jenison, Kirsten & Chip Goodspeed of Manistee, Ron Anderson II of Cedar Springs; 8 grandchildren, Spenser, Shanna, Dexter, Erin, Kyle, Makenna, Macie, and Nicklas; 2 brothers, Gary Anderson of Gallatin, TN, Ken & Lori Anderson of Grand Rapids; 1 sister, Edith & Dennis McBride of Newaygo; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family will greet friends Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. The funeral service will be held Thursday 11:00 am at the Cedar Springs United Methodist Church. Pastor Brian Rafferty officiating. Interment Sand Lake Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Thin Blue Line of Michigan.
