Roger R. Yeatter, 85 of Grand Rapids, passed away Monday, March 8, 2010. Mr. Yeatter was born December 25, 1924 in Colon, MI the son of Michael and Clella (Bubb) Yeatter. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army and had fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of the Carpenter’s Union in Kalamazoo and had worked for Miller-Davis and Kalamazoo Industrial. He enjoyed fishing and had resided at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans for the past 2 ½ years. Surviving are his daughter and her husband, Linda (Si) Gilman of St. Augustine, FL; 1 step granddaughter, Cassie Gilman of Pacific Beach, CA; brother, Loren (Marty) Yeatter of Matlacha, FL; 3 sisters, Joyce (Wilson) Sidwell of Harrisonburg, VA, June (Frank) Awe of Gobles, Mary DeCair of Richmond, VA; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John Yeatter. A committal service with military honors will be held Friday at 2:30 pm at Ft. Custer National Cemetery, Augusta with Mr. Ralph Mishler officiating. Arrangements by Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs.
