Roger E. Gillette 76 of Cedar Springs died Sunday, September 6, 2009 at Metron of Greenville. Roger was born July 2, 1933 in Ensley Township, MI the son of Glenn and Lillian (Buhr) Gillette. He was a farmer for all of his life and had worked at C.S. Tool & Die. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1954-55. Roger made his family a priority and enjoyed attending his children and grandchildren’s sporting events. Surviving are his wife Connie; 3 sons, Roger II “Rip” (Kenda), Mike (Lisa), Jeff all of Cedar Springs; 4 stepchildren, Kim (Jordan) Selesky of Lakeview, Kathye (Dave) Bailey of Greenville, Karri (Brian) Smith of Greenville, Allen (Leigh Ann) Sias of Cedar Springs; 16 grandchildren; 1 sister, Carolyn (Tom) Green of Cedar Springs; 1 brother, Ralph (Barbara) Gillette of Harrisburg, PA; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Arlene in 1977. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs, where services will be held Thursday 11:00 am. Interment Elmwood Cemetery, Cedar Springs. Memorial contributions may be made to Lewy Body Dementia Association.
