Rogelio “Roy” Salinas age 89 of Cedar Springs died Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Mission Point, Cedar Springs. He was born September 15, 1934 in San Antonio, TX the son of Pedro and Hermina (Martinez) Salinas. Roy was one of ten children and a twin to Rudy Salinas. He moved to Sears, MI as a child with his family and graduated from Evart High School in 1953. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 – 55 during the Korean War. He was a tank operator in the Armory Division. Roy retired from McInerny Spring and Wire. During his youth he enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as playing school sports. He loved listening to Elvis and old country music. He spoke fondly of his family and had many great memories that he would reflect on quite often. Surviving are his son, Troy (Kim) Salinas; grandchildren, Kayleb, Tyler and Sydney; great grandson, Ezekiel; siblings, Elida Connor, Lupe Morgan, Rudy Salinas, Andy (Doris) Salinas; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Lee Salinas; parents; siblings, Pete (Carolyn) Salinas, Al (Betty) Salinas, Maria (Richard) Pylman, Romeo (Bessie) Salinas, Horace (Tina) Salinas, Faye Salinas, Stanley Connor and Arlo Morgan. The family will greet friends Wednesday, Dec. 13 from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am at the K.E. Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery, Evart.
