Rodney Walter Rowan age 55 of Rockford died Saturday, February 15, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Rodney was born February 19, 1969 in Grand Rapids, the son of Walter and Maureen (Johnson) Rowan. He was a graduate of Northview High School. As a dedicated steel worker, Rodney took pride in his accomplishments, particularly the staircases and stairwells he crafted for the Lemmen-Holton Cancer Center and the Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids. He had a passion for the outdoors and was an avid year-round fisherman. Recently, he and his dad embarked on two memorable charter fishing trips. His greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. Rodney was renowned for his exceptional grilling skills and took great pleasure in preparing delectable meals for his loved ones. Rod’s Legacy is marked by his kindness, generosity and resilience in the face of his six-year cancer battle.
Surviving are his children, Kyle Cordes, Zackary Rowan, Samantha (Kyle) Mackey; his parents, mother, Maureen Jordan; father, Walter Rowan; sisters, Roxanne Vruggink, Carrie (Kendall) Klingelsmith; grandsons, Colton, David, Elliot Mackey; nephews, Brandon Klingelsmith, Austin Klingelsmith, Kyle Vruggink; and his dear friend, Kathy Steffes.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 12 at 11:00 am with visitation at 10:00 am at K.E. Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. In lieu of flowers memorials in Rodney's name can be made to Hospice of Michigan, 989 Spaulding SE, Ada, MI 49301.
