Robert H. Wilcox, 82 of Ensley Township, Sand Lake, went to be with his Lord on Monday, July 9, 2007 at his home. Mr. Wilcox was born October 25, 1924 in Grand Rapids, MI the son of Fred and Mildred (Downing) Wilcox. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a gunner on the ship that captured the German Submarine U505. He was a dairy farmer and life long member of Ensley Baptist Church. Surviving are 3 children, Dan & Lisa Wilcox of Longmont, CO, Kathy & Jim Winn of New Lothrop, Tom & Jodi Wilcox of Sand Lake; 4 grandchildren, Julie, David, Wendie, Amelia; 3 great grandchildren, Ethan, Isaac, Adeline; 2 brothers, James & Joyce Wilcox of Sparta, Harvey & Scottie Wilcox of Florida, 1 sister, Susan & LeRoy Slachter of Grant; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley in 2005 and 1 brother, Carmen. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Ensley Baptist Church.
