Robert E. Waller age 85 of Cedar Springs, died Monday, April 8, 2019 at his home. Bob was born January 22, 1934 in Greenville, MI the son of George and Dorothy (McGee) Waller. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War for 3 years. He was a fifty year member of the Millwright, Carpenters & Joiners Union. He was a member of the Cedar Springs American Legion, Sand Lake VFW and the White Cloud Eagles. Bob enjoyed restoring old tractors and traveling. He and his wife Elsie traveled all over the country including Alaska, Yellowstone National Park and many winters in Florida. Surviving are his children, Gene (Barb) Waller, Gordon (Lauri) Waller; grandchildren, Jessica Waller (RJ), Andrea Edrington, Jackie Slocum (Justin), Amy Hutchinson (Adam); great grandchildren, Ashley, Brady, Melanie, Brody, Peyton and Evan; sisters, Ethel Ergang, Helen (Bud) Gambee. Also survived by special friends Marty, Claire and Marilyn and his faithful dog, Mattie. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife of 63 years, Elsie in 2018. The family will greet friends Thursday from 5-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs where the service will be held Friday 11:00 am. Pastor David VanderMeer officiating. Private interment East Nelson Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Kindred Hospice.
