Robert E. Smith, 45 of Cape Canaveral, FL died suddenly Tuesday, April 3, 2007 in Florida. Bob was born June 9, 1961 in Grand Rapids, MI. He was employed by ProTech Roofing in Florida. Surviving are 3 children, Robert E. Smith, Jr., Savannah, and Brittney; parents, James H. & Phyllis Detmer of Pierson; 3 brothers, Ernest & Sheryl Smith, Fred Smith, Rodney & Shirley Detmer; 3 sisters, Pamela & Jim Detmer, Debra & Morris Veeneman, Cynthia Arnold; many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Heritage United Methodist Church, Pierson on Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at 11:00 am. The family will greet friends one hour before. Pastor Thomas Ball officiating. Interment will be at Graceland Memorial Park, Grand Rapids. Arrangements by Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs.
