Robert W. McCluer age 87 of Cedar Springs, MI passed away Thursday, May 11, 2023 in his home surrounded by his family. Bob was born July 18, 1935 in Jackson, MI to the late Kenneth and Cecelia (Pasco) McCluer. He was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Kovalic. Bob married Carol Rosenzweig in 1954 and later became father to two boys. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 – 1959. He retired from Michigan Wheel in 1994 where he tested boat propellers often cruising the Grand River in the summer months. Bob and Carol loved to travel to Tennessee and camp in the Smokies in a vintage airstream every summer. In their travels they made many wonderful friends. Bob was a talented wood craftsman specializing in antique reproductions and later showed incredible skills in lathe working. Bob was often seen at the Rockford Craft Show selling his wooden bowls, hand turned in his workshop. He was beloved by his family and is survived by his wife Carol and their two sons, Robert (Pam) McCluer, Scott (Annette) McCluer; five grandchildren, Christopher Slocum, Casey McCluer, Adrianne (Mat) McCluer, Adam (Megan) McCluer and Alex Marie McCluer; three beautiful great granddaughters, Jade, Thea and Quinn McCluer. The family will greet friends Thursday, May 18 from 10:00 am until time of Memorial Mass at 11:00 am at St. John Paul II Catholic Church, Cedar Springs. Rev. Fr. Lam Le celebrant.
