Robert L. Hough, 83, of Fife Lake, passed away Sunday, August 22, 2010, at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center Long Term Care, in the presence of his loving family. Robert was born May 21, 1927, in Spencer Township, Kent County, MI, the son of the late Dewey and Beatrice (Helsel) Hough. He lived in Cedar Springs from 1954 through 1976 before moving to Cincinnati, Ohio. He has made his home in Fife Lake since 2006. Robert was a veteran of World War II, proudly serving in the U.S. Army. He was an avid gardener and especially loved flowers. He enjoyed trips to the Smoky Mountains and Gatlinburg, TN. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Inez Marie (Magoon), whom he married, June 7, 1952; children, Kimberland (Patricia) Hough of Fife Lake, JoEllen (Mark) Bishop of Cincinnati, OH, sisters-in-law Bernice Hough of Hudson, FL, Trisha Seymour of Ft. Wayne, IN, Lillian Dines and Marie (Alan) McClary both of Grand Rapids, Betty (Steve) Hilbrands of Byron Center, Joyce (Ron) Paige of Cedar Springs, brothers-in-law Clare (Lore) Magoon of San Antonio, TX, James (Verna) Smiegel of Pierson, Jerry Magoon of Sand Lake, and Gerald Magoon and Alberta Magoon of Cedar Springs, several cousins, and many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jack Hough, and brothers-in-law, James Magoon, John Magoon, Carl Magoon and sisters-in-law, Elsie Jean (Magoon) Utter, Susan (Magoon) Porter. Visitation for Robert will be Tuesday, August 24, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters and Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs, www.blisswitterspike.com. A celebration of Robert's life and faith will be held Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 11:00 at the Pilgrim Bible Church. Rev. Darrell Stetler of Burlington, KY will officiate. Interment with military honors will take place at Elmwood Cemetery, Cedar Springs. Memorial contributions in Robert's honor may be directed to Bible Methodist Missions, c/o of Mrs. Dawn Kretoski, 3770 80th. Ave., Evart, MI 49631.
