Robert E. Forbes

Robert E. Forbes age 78 of Cedar Springs died Monday, May 6, 2024 at his home. He was born March 22, 1946 in Fall River, MA the son of Edward and Marcella (Desmarais) Forbes. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as a medical records clerk. He graduated from the University of Michigan and taught at Kent City Public Schools for 28 years. Bob enjoyed fishing, camping and watching westerns and history. He was resilient in the face of serious health issues and never lost his zest for life. He had a passion for teaching, loved to laugh and tell jokes, and enjoyed chatting with the neighbors. Surviving are his wife, Karen; children, Carrie Forbes, Brian Forbes; brother-in-law, Dale Tuckey; in-laws, Carl (Sylvia) Stoddard, Jim (Janet) Stoddard; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Annette Tuckey. The family will greet friends Saturday, June 1 from 9:00 am until time of memorial mass at 10:00 am at St. John Paul II Catholic Church, 3110 17 Mile Road, Cedar Springs. Rev. Fr. Lam Le celebrant.
