Robert H. Cichewicz

Robert Henry Cichewicz age 82 of Pierson died Monday, February 20, 2023 at Corewell Health-Butterworth. Bob was born in Grand Rapids on February 21, 1940 the son of Henry and Bernice (Olszewski) Cichewicz. He served on many church committees at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and Mary Queen of Apostles Church and was President of the Big White Fish Lake Association. In his younger years he worked at the family store, Straight Food Market as a butcher. Bob became a teacher and then a principal with the Grand Rapids Public Schools. Surviving are his sons, Robert (Laura) Cichewicz II, William (Billie Jean) Cichewicz; grandchildren, Lincoln, Jackson, McKinley, Harrison, Willa, and Ainsley Cichewicz; cousins, Barb (Mike) Wolven and their sons Dave and Dan, Diane (Randy) Frykberg and their sons Andy and Eric, Marilyn Gillis and family, Kathy (Bill) Gibson and family; brother-in-law, Howard (Terri) Hansen and their children, Ryan and Meghan. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Ann. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 11:00 am Monday, Feb. 27 at Our Lady of Consolation, 4865 11 Mile Rd., Rockford, where visitation will begin at 10:00 am. Rev. Fr. Danny Orris, Celebrant.
