Rickie Lee Stewart of Howard City, MI passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 5, 2025, just weeks before his 73rd birthday. He was born on July 26, 1952 in Grand Rapids to Harold and Izola (Grover) Stewart. A recipient of a life-saving lung transplant, Rick was blessed with the gift of 11 extra months.
Rick spent his life laughing often – frequently at his own jokes. He was known for his quick wit and sarcastic sense of humor, his undying passion for golf, his enjoyment of hunting and his love for his family.
Nothing made Rick prouder than watching his kids and grandkids compete in sports. He was their biggest fan, always showing up to cheer them on from the stands, no matter the weather or the distance. His presence, support and one-of-a-kind personality will be missed deeply by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves behind a legacy of laughter and love that will echo through every game, every family gathering, and every perfectly timed wisecrack.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda; children, Jennifer Rackley, Brian (Kelly) Stewart; grandchildren, Allyson (Bradley) Edwards, Nicholas (Sienna) Morris, Weston (Hannah) Rackley, Krysten Rackley, Delaney Stewart, Logan Rackley and Lauren Stewart; great-grandchildren, Rosemary Edwards, Sigmund Edwards, Brooks Morris, Senna Edwards and Mila Morris; siblings, Dennis Stewart and Vickie (Tom) Matejovitz.
Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 12, 2025 at K.E Pike Funeral Home in Cedar Springs. The family will greet friends an hour before the service and Friday, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Chad Wight, officiating.
A luncheon will follow the service at the United Methodist Church, 140 S. Main St. Cedar Springs.
In memoriam, please consider a donation to the Tri County Cross Country and Tri County Girls Basketball programs, groups that were close to Rick’s heart.
In honor of Rick, the family asks that you show up to the next game, hit the golf course with someone you love or consider becoming an organ donor – it truly is the gift of time. donatelife.net
