Rick L. Spaulding

September 14, 1957 — July 7, 2024

After a hard fought battle with health complications over the past 3 years, Rick Spaulding has passed away on July 7, 2024 at the age of 67. Rick was the second child of four and was raised in the Morley Stanwood area. He made his home in and around Grand Rapids following high school and worked a variety of jobs in manufacturing and the trades where he managed and led crews/teams. He loved riding his Harley, ATV's and deer hunting. "Big Rick" as he was known in the motorcycle club world was a member of the Wayward Sons MC for fourteen years and rose to officer status in record time. He will be remembered fondly and missed by all of his club brothers. If you were loved by Big Rick you were a very lucky person. His enormous hugs were to be cherished. He had a big heart for his family and friends and loved a good time. He especially loved his kids and was very proud of them all. He is survived by his son, Jeremy of Kalamazoo, daughter, Jesi of Piedmont, OK; stepchildren, Sadie, Hunter and Josie of Cedar Springs as well as grandchildren, Cameron and Layla of OK. Rick was the best brother to his sisters, Deb Spaulding of Morley, Sue (Tony) Snavley of Big Rapids and brother, Michael Scott (Denise) of Grand Rapids. He held a special place in his heart for his niece, Kerri (aka Baby Jake). Greeting Rick in heaven are his beloved parents, Dave and Dorothy Spaulding and many friends and family who are holding one hell of a reunion that includes Rick's favorite meal of a big steak, "taters", fresh veggies and strawberry shortcake. Cremation has taken place and a celebration will be held sometime this summer with the Wayward Sons. Arrangements by K.E. Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs.
