Rick Fisher

Rick Fisher….age 79…born 9-15-1945 passed away peacefully Wednesday evening March 19, 2025 with family by his side.

Born the son of Gerald and Margarite Fisher in Grand Rapids Michigan…Rick has been rejoined in heaven with both of his parents…..siblings Sandy Berlinski & Jerry Fisher…son David Huizinga….grandson David Earl Huizinga III….as well as his beloved in-laws….mother/father-in-law Jay & Ruth Bagley & brother in law Orren Hippensteel.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years Judy Fisher….kids Doug Huizinga….Jodi Huizinga….April Fisher (Roxanne Joy)……Jason (Sarah) Fisher….sister Cheryl Ray, as well as many grandkids….great grandkids…..nieces/nephews….and his beloved brother & sister-in-laws.

Rick spent his entire life in the west Michigan area and worked at Taber & Ottenwess for 20 years before becoming his own boss and owning J&R Auto Salvage in Cedar Springs MI. with his father-in-law Jay Bagley.

After business ownership for 25 years, Rick & Judy retired and enjoyed traveling…..especially out west as snow birds in the winter, many trips to Biloxi, Mississippi and Brimley, Michigan in the U.P. in the summer where they enjoyed their many adventures quad riding and hanging out with family & friends up there.

He has passed the quad riding tradition off to his family now as we will honor him every year with a “Ride for Rick.”

Rick & Judy also enjoyed their motorcycle riding days…..members of the Michigan Road Runners….where they gained countless friendships with other members.

Our father will always be remembered for his “belly laugh” and contagious smile. Not only did he have a gentle giant soul…..he was always there as the “go to guy” whenever anyone needed him for knowledge or repair.

He will be greatly missed by many……but never forgotten and will live on in our hearts for eternity.

A celebration of Rick's life will be held 1:00 - 4:00 pm at Cedar Springs American Legion, Post 287 on Saturday, May 3, 2025. Arrangements by K.E. Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs.
