Richard L. Vanderhyde

Richard L. “Dick” Vanderhyde age 79 of Williamsburg, MI passed away Thursday, February 9, 2023 at his home. He was born March 17, 1943 in Sparta, MI the son of Frank and Frances (Bricker) Vanderhyde. He graduated from Kent City High School and served in the National Guard. Dick enjoyed boating, RVing and going to the casino. He was a hard worker, very honest and would help anyone. He was a former Kent County Sheriff Deputy and Sparta Police Officer. Surviving are his wife, Jane; three daughters, Vonnie, Rhonda and Tammy; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Dave (Kim) Vanderhyde; sister, Mary; close friend, John Nester; dear dog, Lily. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bob, Frank and Tom Vanderhyde. The family will greet friends Monday, February 13 from 12:00 pm until time of service at 1:00 pm at the K.E. Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. Pastor Chuck Smith officiating. Interment in the spring at Idlewild Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of West Michigan.
