Richard M. Skelonc age 73 of Howard City, died Monday, November 9, 2020 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus. Richard was born January 4, 1947 in Grand Rapids, MI the son of Martin and Barbara (Burns) Skelonc. He graduated from Cedar Springs High School in 1965 and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Kent County Sheriff Department. Richard loved to ride motorcycle, enjoyed hunting and loved his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife, Mary; son, Craig (Lindsay) Skelonc; stepson, Ken (Renee) Rooks; grandchildren, Lane, Allison, Eli, Susan, Katherine, Elizabeth and Natalie; brothers, Steve (Marie) Skelonc, Gerald (Janet) Skelonc, Don (Cindy) Skelonc, Carl (Mary) Skelonc; sisters, Alice Wesche, Karen (Dennis) Clelland; in-laws, John (Marilyn) VanWinkle, Lon (Teresa) VanWinkle, Steve (Karen) VanWinkle; best friend, Michael (Judy) Gillen; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Mick Wesche. Private family visitation and mass will be held Friday, November 13 at St. John Paul II Catholic Church, Cedar Springs. Rev.
