Richard "Dick" J. Capek

Richard “Dick” Capek age 88 of Cedar Springs died Monday, July 7, 2025 at SKLD Wyoming, MI. Dick was born July 2, 1937 in Muskegon, MI the son of Clarence and Evangeline (Groff) Capek. He graduated from Whitehall High School in 1955, served in the Navy in the Pacific, attended San Diego Junior College and Muskegon Junior College. Dick was always on the water. As a child he would row boat people to his Grandmother’s Resort on White Lake. Later he became a commercial fisherman, marine contractor, hard hat diver, merchant seaman and tug boat captain. One could almost always find him on a lake with a fishing pole. His favorite pastimes were fishing and hunting. Dick is survived by his daughters Nancy Capek, Jane (Todd) Wieda; grandchildren, Anna (Dustin) Robinson, Katherine Wieda, Kimberly Wieda, Ray (Amelia) McCall; great grandchildren, Gabriel, Connor, Violet and Willow; brother, Ray Capek. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 61 years Patricia Capek, sister, Annie Capek. Special thanks goes out to the staff at SKLD Wyoming and Corewell Health Hospice.
