Reuben S. Hoxsie age 91 of Cedar Springs, died Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus. Reuben was born February 22, 1929 in Sparta, MI the son of Christopher and Nora (Schurkamp) Hoxsie. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and worked at Michigan Plating and Stamping for 45 years. He was a member of St. John Paul II Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus 4th degree. Reuben loved to fish, raise horses, woodworking and baking cookies for his family. He enjoyed raising a garden and giving it all away. Surviving are his wife, Katherine (Miles) whom he married on August 7, 1953; children, Jan (Keith) Norman, Mike (Tena) Hoxsie, Ron Hoxsie, Lori (Kevin) Stout; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; step mother, Frances Hoxsie; half brother and sisters, Christopher Hoxsie Jr, Julie Berry, Leslie Hoxsie. He was preceded in death by his sister, Maxine Houghton; and a half sister, Donna Austin. The family will greet friends Monday, June 15 from 10 – 11 am at St. John Paul II Catholic Church, masks are required. A private family Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am. Rev. Fr.
