Renee Joy Alexander-Russo, age 70, devoted wife to her husband and loving mother, transitioned to be with the Lord on January 30, 2025. Born on December 19, 1954, in Grand Rapids, MI, she was surrounded by the warmth of a large family, with five siblings and many aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her loving husband, Joe Russo; her siblings, Jerry Alexander of Alto, MI; Sharlotte (Ron) Paridee of Gobles, MI; Debbie (Art) Moredick of Middleville, MI, and Diana (Amy) Alexander of Holland, MI; her daughters, Lelea (Donny) Boutwell of Grand Rapids, MI, Victoria (Brent) Christen of Niles, MI, and Leslie (Greg) Harmon of Palmyra, IN; bonus children, Patience Hunter Scott of Charlotte, MI, Paul Hunter of Sparta, MI, Joe Russo Jr of Wyoming, MI, Jeremiah Russo (Carrie Sue) of Gowen, MI; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Renee also cherished her role as a grandmother "Nana" to eight grandchildren, Tiffany, Kalynn, Darryl Jr., Ashleigh, Ciara, Anna, Andrew, and Austin; and ten great-grandchildren, Emma, Caelob, Kristen, Samuel, Christiana, Ashton, Thomas, Lilly, Elijah, and Aurora.
Preceded in death by her beloved parents, Gerald and Alice Alexander; her brother, Randy Alexander; her granddaughter, Deven Ruth; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins, Renee lived a life inspired by nature and a profound love for all animals, showcasing the largest green thumb her family has ever seen. She also had a keen eye for uncovering the beauty in things often discarded; she found innovative ways to breathe new life into recycled, refurbished, and reusable items. Driven by unwavering determination and perseverance, she eventually realized her dream of becoming a beautician later in life. This passion not only enabled her to explore her creativity but also allowed her to connect deeply with her family and friends, often cutting their hair with care. Strong-willed yet deeply loving, Renee lived life fully and offered support whenever needed. Her spirit will shine brightly in the hearts of those she touched.
