Rebecca Ann McMeeken died at 76 years on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at her home in Pierson, MI. Despite declining health, she remained sweet and gentle to the end. With loved ones by her side, she went peacefully to be with her Savior.
She was born September 28, 1949, the oldest daughter of Dennis and Edna (Brott) Bunker in Newaygo, MI. Nicknamed “Becky” by friends and family, she had a playful sense of humor, and when she laughed, everyone laughed with her. She loved her dogs always.
She graduated from Tri County High School in Howard City. She loved caring for other people and learned how to cook delicious food to share with others. Guests coming over for dinner? The highlight of her week. At Pierson Bible Church, her schedule was open when someone needed help. She also taught Sunday School there, served the ladies, and led the senior saints.
In 1979, she married her true love, Jim McMeeken, a man who made her laugh. A few years later, they adopted a tiny girl from South Korea and loved her as their own. They were married for 44 short years when Jim passed away in 2023, and Becky missed him every day.
Each morning, she started the day with God, praying and reading the Bible. She never lost that thirst to know Him better. Even in her last months with failing health and difficulty reading, she listened to Bible teachings daily.
Becky McMeeken is survived by her daughter, Rachel; siblings, Dan (Jean) Bunker, Mary (Paul) Steinburg, Eunice (Gerald) Gould, David Bunker, and Faith Bunker. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and brothers Steve, Phil, and Jim.
She had the biggest servant’s heart and the most contagious laugh that her family has ever known. More than anything, she wanted people to know Jesus. Now she is with Him forever.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 28 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Pierson Bible Church, 101 Grand St. The funeral service will follow directly at 12:00 p.m. Officiating Pastor Tom Ekkel and Pastor Mike Wittmer.
In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions to Pierson Bible Church or Alzheimer’s Association.
Arrangements by K.E. Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs.
