Preston R. “Pep” Cole, 74 of Cedar Springs, died Sunday, February 26, 2006 at Spectrum Health – Butterworth Campus. Pep was born May 13, 1931 in Cedar Springs the son of Arthur I. and Gladys G. (Cook) Cole. He was a 1949 graduate of Cedar Springs High School and had attended Pilgrim Bible Church. Pep loved his job of milk hauling and the farmers he served for 41 years. He was an excellent marksman, and an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. He had a wonderful sense of humor. Surviving are his wife Marjorie (Zank); 4 children, Preston S. & Teresa Cole of Mancelona, Craig S. & Brenda Cole, Brian J. Cole, and Kimberly J. Cole all of Cedar Springs; 6 grandchildren, Triston (Stacy), Tyler (Naomi), Trevon (Jessica), Tianne, Wesley, and Katie; 2 great grandchildren, Etta and Adalynne; 2 sisters, Waneta “Tut” Wilkins, and Onalee & C. Duane Fisher all of Cedar Springs; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Doris and Edith Tindale, Bruce Eldred, Vernon Eldred, Mary Hall, Colen Cole and Max Cole and many others. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 1 sister. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. The funeral service will be held Thursday 2:00 pm at Pilgrim Bible Church, Cedar Springs. Pastors Knox Bullock and Robert Sickmiller officiating. Interment Elmwood Cemetery, Cedar Springs. Memorial contributions may be made to Pilgrim Bible Church.
