Peter Anthony Perez, age 75, of Flint, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on November 7, 1950, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Peter and Emma (Jackson) Perez.

Pete (Tony) lived a life marked by honor, service, and devotion to his family. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he dedicated 26 years to the City of Flint as a firefighter and EMT, faithfully serving his community with courage and compassion until his retirement in 2011.

On November 12, 1971, he married the love of his life, Sharon (Dixon) Perez, and together they shared 55 years of marriage while raising a loving family.

Family was the center of Pete’s life. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Sharon; son, Anthony (Kristin), and their children, Tyler, preceded him in death, Anna, Kaelynn, Molly, Tia, Haley, Ivan, and Nolan; his daughter, Erica (Matt) Dalman, and their children, Andrew, Ethan, Caleb, and Megan; and his son, Corey (Veronica), and their daughter, Ava. All of them brought him tremendous pride and joy. He cherished every opportunity to spend time with his family, creating memories that will be treasured forever.

An avid outdoorsman, Pete found great enjoyment hunting at his beloved Lost Pines Lodge in northern Michigan, where he spent countless hours with family and friends. During the winter months, he looked forward to traveling to Florida, where he enjoyed the warmth of the season and the company of many dear friends. Whether at the lodge, in Florida, or at home with his family, he appreciated life’s simple pleasures and the company of those he loved.

He is also survived by his sister, Denise Bennett; brother-in-law, Craig Crawford; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Emma (Jackson) Perez; his brother, James; and his sister, Felicia.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their love, prayers, and support during this difficult time, as well as to the staff of Emmanuel Hospice for their guidance and compassion. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in the hearts of all who knew him.

The family will greet friends at Our Lady of Consolation Church, 4865 11 Mile Road, Rockford, on Thursday, August 13, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., when the Rosary will be prayed.
